What the mark scheme wanted

M1 for differentiating, A1 for 6x − 4, M1 for substituting x = 2 into dy/dx → gradient 8, A1 for the tangent y = 8x − 9.

How to fix it

You had the method mark and lost the accuracy marks to one substitution slip. Before writing the tangent, say out loud which expression gives the gradient. Two marks back, every time.
